![]() ![]() What to do: Verify that the power supply is turned on. If that can be overcome, Gen 3 will finally be a complete alternative to Gen 2.No lights mean that it’s a power supply issue, there is no power coming from the breaker panel. However, I'm told that Gen 3 never got its WiFi (up-to-16-car-sharing) bugs worked out. So Gen 3 is now more than adequate for most. A single car currently can't charge past, what-48-amps? And I've found that 32 amps is more than enough to charge (my X) overnight. But that is only good for those few who need to charge multiple Tesla vehicles (and with building circuitry adequate to support the higher loads). That leaves the more powerful up-to-100-amps circuit feature. Tesla even briefly re-issued the Gen2 wall connectors on the shop Charging site.īut now, one of the Gen 2 advantages (cable length) has been nullified. Asking prices (on eBay and Craig's List) soared for new, Elon Signature (referral reward), and even used versions of Gen 2. ![]() Gen 2 has been much in demand (ever since replacement by Gen 3). This is a big deal (here in California, at least). I'm not sure who the people are that pay way above retail for items, but their are plenty of listings like that so that stuff must sell. Their are also a lot of bad deals with new items being gouged at higher than actual retail prices. Sometimes a seller has mulitple listings for an item just based on if you want to pay a surcharge for a drop shipper to get it sooner or not. Generally speaking I will search for an item a few different ways including best guess item mispellings and using both eBay and external search engines to make sure I have a good idea on whats available. Its frustrating because you can miss the thing you were looking for or miss out on a good deal as a result. So a high to low price search will be completely misranked based on ad costs and seller ratings and other stuff that is really boring to talk about. eBay also sorts results by how much folks agree to pay for the ad placement. So I generally use an external search engine pointed at eBay so I can get through the fluff. ![]() I have found things either miscategorized or just by dumb luck. eBay doesn't care if you buy the thing you were looking for so they include some wild crap in the results often. But the other thing is some sellers are idiots so they don't spell things correctly or put in relevant keywords to assist the engine with pulling up relevant results. Sometimes they are high quality counterfeits that work perfectly if the seller is willing to offer a return if it doesnt work hold them to it if you have problems. High price doesnt indicate quality so ask the seller questions if you aren’t sure. Some items are factory seconds but its often same items made in same factory just sold as components. Lead times from China have been as short as 2 weeks in the before times. You just gave to sift through the listings because ebays search engine is deliberately bad. This is an example but many power sellers will drop ship directly from US warehouses. Buy from trusted sellers that have good ratings. So no trips on the private corporate jet to the private island resort. I don’t accept products for review nor do I accept compensation for my opinion. In that case any such discount is something that is available to anyone. Usually at full cost but occasionally I get lucky with a sale item or coupon code.
